I remember seeing Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings at the Edmonton Folk Fest back in 2011 - you were a true powerhouse, and all of us up that big hill danced til our feet couldn't take it anymore! Thank you for that night

I was at the beautiful service last night in Brooklyn. Thank you for inviting people who were just fans as I had been for over 10 years. I had tickets for the Jersey City show that never happened & was sitting in the front row (with flowers for Sharon) at the James Brown Tribute the day she passed. Feel fortunate to have seen her in Readington last summer & that she signed my cd after. I know her family and Dap-King Family find strength in how much she was loved and joy in the memory of talent. I, as a performer who has also been deemed "Too Old, Too Short,Too Fat" in my life, have always seen in her an inspiration of her late life career ascension. As a person, I will take away inspiration on dealing with adversity through action. Thank you, Miss Jones for all you did. Dap-Kings, my offer to volunteer my time in your office assisting with the surplus of orders stands.
