Never thought that a person could deliever the perfect sound and feeling of soul these modern days. And you simply proved me wrong. And I will forever be grateful for that. Thank you, Queen Sharon. Rest in Peace. <3

Rest in peace, Sharon. You were a pioneer of the soul revival movement and made so many things possible for many artists that have left an indelible mark on me and millions of others. I had the privilege of seeing you and the Dap-Kings open for Hall & Oates both at Madison Square Garden and at the PNC Bank Arts Center. You masked the intense pain you were feeling so well and gave 200% to your performances. You opened me up to a whole new world of music and feeling, and I miss your strength, resolve, and pure joy.

Just over a year ago, Sharon & the DapKings performed in Humboldt County CA. I loved how honest she was with how she was feeling and how inspiring it was to watch her perform. She and the band were so incredibly tight and gave us a great show! I will miss her and hope to see the DapKings again. Blessings and peace to her loved ones.

Thank you so much for sharing your God given gift with so many. We knew you were talented in high school, but we never realized the multitude of people you would touch through your music. I'm so grateful my husband and I went out after a snow storm to see you in St Louis. You were simply AMAZING! It was an honor to know you.

To The Queen, you are loved more than you could possibly know. You made this world rich because of your music, strength and spirit. I had the pleasure to meet you more than once and to work with you in 2002. You and your boys (those Kings) will always feel like family to many of us and this world is a better place because of you. Thank you for giving us the gift that is you and your music. We miss you!

To the Dapkings, especially Gabe and Binky, we can only imagine the loss you feel. Please keep healing us and yourselves through your incredible gift of music. This world needs Daptone Records now more than ever. Thank you!

Warmly,
The People

Thank you for your presence, soul & energy. I saw you at the Barbican supported by Charles Bradley & the evening was incredible. You are a true inspiration, taken from us far too soon. I thank the Lord I got to witness your magic & you got to share it. God bless your soul. Dance & sing with the angels * * *

Her voice, her music, her persona were so inspiring. It saddens me that such a strong talent is gone, but I am happy she has left behind many albums and a sound that was all too rare in the 21st century. Rest in Power, Ms. Jones.

I saw you a few times in Detroit and you were amaxing. After the last time I saw you I had the pleasure of meeting you. You were kind, and patient. You took time to speak with cancer survivors after the show, giving hugs and hope. Your strength was and still is a true inspiration. Rest in Peace Miss Sharon Jones, you are missed

Got to see you twice. It wasn't enough. Best live performer I ever had the privilege to see. You brought my wife and I so much joy. Your music will continue to fill my our house and our hearts. Thank you for teaching my daughter why it means to be funky. Rest easy.
