I remember being in New York when I discovered the greatest soul singer of a generation on a TV music channel and I bought every single album of yours I could find that day! I saw you live in London a few years later and that show still ranks as one of my favorite gigs of all time, your energy and love for your audience was spellbinding. My Sharon Jones T Shirt is worn and torn but I still wear it spreading the gospel of Miss Jones to the uneducated of the UK! The news of your passing hurt me and saddened me as you had so much to give and still to do, but my comfort is that you are now at peace and I have my LP's and memories of such a wonderful person.

Dear Sharon, My story with you is a story of friendship and love. A friend introduced me to your wonderful music! And I passed this on to other friends. I went to your gig with two people I love dearly and I'm sure they also passed on your music to friends, family and lovers. I guess it was the essence of your music, the message within your voice, the greatest power you had as a human being. You are an inspiration for all of us and I for one, will try to carry this message of hope, love and strength all my life because I share the belief that this is what makes us human, this is what makes us great and you were probably one of the greatest.
